A little bit more about myself and how I built this website

I have been designing backyard entertainment areas, mostly with swimming pools, for the past 27 years here in Arizona.

My wife, Maureen, and I now live in the Dove Mountain area of Marana, Arizona, about five miles north of Tucson. We thoroughly enjoy the desert and all the desert plants, trees shrubs and beautiful sunsets.

I attended St. John's University at Collegeville MN & Graduated with liberal arts degree and a degree in Theology.

After spending some time visiting third world countries and 15 years of searching for a more meaningful life, I finally met and married my wife, Maureen, with three wonderful children.

Not knowing what I would do for a living, Maureen went to work while became a stay at home father. I designed and built for them a beautiful redwood deck and fun backyard. Well, I discovered that I really had a talent and interest in designing outdoor entertainment areas for families. I was invited to worked with a friend of mine, Bert Notch , a pioneer in Construction, Architecture and Design. Drawing from the examples of such masters as I.M. Pei and Frank Lloyd Wright, Bert utilized the latest in technology and creativity to design and build Personal Landscapes. Eventually we moved to Phoenix Arizona where we have year round outdoor living. There I designed for a great company, Rondo Pools, for 25 yrs.

Then three years ago, to be close to our Granddaughter, we moved to the Tucson area.

Through my interest in swimming pools and landscaping, I became interested in container Earthbox gardening, inspired by my sister Dr Lynn Stauder and Vint Cerf, vice president of Google who works extensively now with the Food Connection

I also I began building this website with the intention of just sharing my experiences with others.

At first I had no idea how to get started. I had a basic knowledge of computers but certainly not enough to make a website.I researched every website builder that I could find and came to the conclusion that:

• After four years in SBI we now have a monthly income for the rest of our lives.
